On Tuesday January 23, a small group of administration, staff, students, and family members of Dr. Schade gathered in the Rudolf G. Schade Archives at Elmhurst College. A few of the people who attended spoke about Dr. Schade and all of the great things that he has done for Elmhurst College and the archives was dedicated to him.

Even though I obviously have not met Dr. Shade, the speech given in memory of him as well as the personal accounts of various library staff members gave me a good impression of Shade, and makes me want to meet him. And he smoked in his office, which was pretty cool.
